Members of iBeekeepers formed the Iveragh Native Irish Honey Bee Conservation Group in 2013 with a view to expanding the numbers of our locally adapted native Irish honey bee (Apis Mellifera Mellifera) colonies to purchase at a realistic/affordable price for the benefit of our members and new beekeepers in the area. On the 30th June 2013 some of our members were invited by Kingdom (Tralee) and Killorglin beekeeping associations on a trip to visit nationally renown and prize winning commercial beekeepers Gerry and Mary Ryan of Dundrum, County Tipperary… and what a fabulous fun learning day and social occasion it was so…
